Sierra Vista High School’s NAMI on Campus Club is the first student-led NAMI in East San Gabriel Valley and has over 150 student members. This has been one of our most active NCHS clubs since it was piloted during the 2016-17 school year in partnership with NAMI East San Gabriel Valley, NAMI CA, the California Department of Education, and Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Outreach Program. Members of the club, pictured above with therapy dog “Gunny” during National Depression Awareness Month in October, empower each other and the community at large to learn and help raise awareness of mental health.
The club has been featured as a “thriving school” on Kaiser Permanente’s website. Read the article and learn more at these impressive students!
