With funding for mental health and homelessness being evaluated by lawmakers, NAMI California is urging Governor Gavin Newsom to consider the voices of those most impacted by the crisis. Statement from NAMI California CEO Jessica Cruz, in response to the news reports of the Governor’s proposal to allocate state funds and review Prop 63 (the Mental Health Services Act).
“We applaud statewide efforts to take on the homelessness crisis and urge the Governor to include us in any conversations about families and individuals impacted by mental illness. As the state’s leading grassroots organization working with Californians facing mental health challenges, we know firsthand that stakeholder involvement is necessary to ensure better outcomes for all of our communities.
