How Do I Join the Conference?
Signing Up with Whova
All of our sessions will be on Zoom and we’re using an online event platform called Whova, which has a website and phone app with links to our streaming sessions, networking opportunities, and more.
Create your Whova account to join using your computer and to download the smartphone app.
You will need to create a free account on the Whova website to access the conference sessions, using the same email you used to register for the conference.
Once you’re signed up, you should be taken directly to our conference event; if you aren’t directly added to the event, you will be asked for an event invitation code that was sent to the email you used to sign up for the conference.
Already used the Whova app in the past? Double-check that it is installed on your phone, and log in using your existing account email and password.
Using Whova
- View the event agenda, speaker bios, and plan your schedule by saving events to your calendar
- Access livestreams and videos directly within sessions and utilize the session Q&A
- Network with other attendees and set up virtual meet-ups to connect remotely
- Post and answer questions and discussion topics on our community board
- Receive updates, such as last-minute changes
- Get presentation documents and slides (if the event organizer uploaded them)
Check the Whova Attendee Guide and FAQ page for more information.
Attending Sessions
Conference sessions will be played on Zoom using the 360p video setting inside the Whova platform, so those tuning in on larger screens or monitors can expect to see lower-resolution images.
You will need to use Google Chrome as your browser to attend sessions and participate.
Click on Agenda to see the schedule and see the link to join in the description for each session.
When you join a session, you will “join with audio” to hear sessions. Note: regular session capacity is capped at 300 so arrive on time to the sessions you’d like to attend. (We will share video replay links after the conference so you can see any sessions you missed.)
Test your internet speed. Streaming software usually has Internet speed requirements. For our Zoom sessions, the requirement is 2Mbps at the minimum. You may test your Internet speed here: https://www.speedtest.net/
