Family & Peer Support Specialist Online Training Starts Feb. 4

Do you have lived experience with a mental health condition? Are you a family member with a loved one with mental illness? Train to become a Family & Peer specialist to receive certification from NAMI California and the California Office of State Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) for work in the behavioral health field.

Become certified to be a family and peer specialist with our web-based training. All sessions are guided by trained presenters and offer opportunities for participant interaction as you learn about the recovery model, communication skills, trauma-informed care, and more. The program provides health educational training, one-on-one career counseling, and support to volunteer or work in the behavioral health field.

The 10-week course is web-based and is run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6 to 8:30 pm, from February 4 to April 7. If you have questions, email tory@namica.org.
